Artwork Name: Sky city

I used my lathe and my measuring tape:
I decide to create the famous city in the clouds, it's not just a big skyscraper; it's a whole quote up there.
I draw in pencil the kinds of levels that I wish to establish on wood…
I chose the most beautiful wood lignum vitae possible, I found it at the wood craft shop in Oklahoma City.

 

 

I made a miniature staircase very small, it’s to go to Sky City…
This heavenly city is the city of watchers, those whose mission is to monitor. It is a fine example of a futuristic city; I did a fairly precise miniature sculpture work, faithful to my idea.

 

 

I imagined the City and redrawn at the same scale: 1/1!…
I used my band saw, sand machines, a drill, gouges, chisels, wood burning machine…

 

This is a good project for the future: when one solution gives another solution...

 

This work became very green when I varnished it in the sun!
A Krylon varnish fixative and a varnish satin finish...
